Christmas hasn't even come yet and already people are thinking about how they'll ring in the new year. Throwing an awesome New Year's Eve party doesn't have to cost a fortune. These tips will have you on your way to ringing in the new year in style without spending a ton of cash.

1. Reuse Christmas decorations.

A lot of Christmas decor can take you right into the new year, so there's no reason to run out to the store and buy more fancy decorations. White Christmas lights, gold and silver ornaments, and anything with glitter create the perfect backdrop for celebrating the start of a new year with loved ones- but put away any Santa decorations because the big guy's already had his day.

2. Create one signature cocktail.

New Year's Eve often means delighting in an alcoholic beverage or two, but the cost of liquor can really add up. Instead of buying a ton of stuff to stock your bar, create one, unique signature cocktail for your guests to enjoy. Not only is it a fun treat for your guests, it's easy on the bartender as well. A few great cocktail ideas include:

  • Champagne and Sorbet Cocktail- a teaspoon of your favorite sorbet is stirred into a glass of champagne to create a sweet, bubbly drink.
  • Easy Sangria- mix a bottle of your favorite red wine with freshly squeezed orange, lemon, and lime juice. Throw the peels in with the wine and add some chopped apples for the a simple take on this classic drink.
  • Vodka and Cranberry- cranberries are the quintessential holiday fruit, and mixing them with vodka makes them even better. Add some lime juice and ice and you've got yourself a wonderful holiday cocktail.
3. Serve buffet-style food.

You don't need to serve a five-course meal to host an elegant party. An array of delicious appetizers will do the trick and your guests can nibble on them throughout the night. Food served on a smaller scale is also very budget-friendly. Consider giving these finger-foods a try:

  • Pigs in a blanket
  • Baked brie
  • Stuffed mushrooms
  • Spinach-artichoke cups
  • Jalapeno poppers
  • Sausage cheese balls
  • Pizza potato skins
4. Provide inexpensive entertainment.

There's no need for a pricey disc jockey to get your party pumping. You can get your guests on the dance floor with your very own hot playlist spun directly from your cell phone. Other great entertainment ideas include board games, a do-it-yourself photo booth, and watching the infamous ball drop at midnight.

An exciting new year is ahead and ringing it in has never been easier, or cheaper, than with these great party tips. Remember to not sweat the small stuff. Your guests are there to enjoy each other's company-- not to criticize your hosting skills. They'll be talking about your amazing New Year's Eve party well after the confetti settles.
