5 Hairstyles To Wear Under A Beanie

1. Side Pony

A regular pony tail is easy to do, but a side pony elevates this hairstyle a bit further. To achieve this look, part the hair down the center or slightly off-center. Gather all of the hair on one side of the head and secure it just below the ear with an elastic.

2. Thick Braid

Tiny braids are adorable, but a nice, thick braid is the way to go for an elegant yet understated beanie hairstyle. Gather all the hair at base of the skull and separate into three even sections. Cross an outside section over the top of the middle section and merge it with the other outside section. Continue this process, alternating outside sections, until all of the hair is braided. Secure with an elastic for an all-day style.

3. Low Bun

Buns aren't just for ballerinas. They are also lovely when worn underneath a beanie. To achieve this style, gather all of the hair at the base of the neck and secure with an elastic. Twist the hair and then wind it around the elastic to form a bun. Secure the bun with bobby pins or another elastic and spray with a light-hold hairspray to eliminate any fly-aways.

4. Beachy Waves

Beachy waves are a summer favorite, but you can also wear them during the winter underneath a beanie for the perfect mix of two seasons. Starting with dry hair, curl sections of hair around a large-barreled curling iron. Once all the hair is curled, run your fingers through the hair to loosen the waves. Spray with a light-hold hairspray and loosely wear a beanie on top.
