Starving no more! A few lucky celebrities attending the 76th Annual Golden Globes ceremony on Sunday, January 6 were ecstatic when funny-girl Melissa McCarthy started passing out ham sandwiches during the televised broadcast.

Although the awards ceremony includes an elaborate dinner for guests, it's served prior to the start of the show in order to avoid loud sounds like cutlery scraping plates and food being chewed during the broadcast. Since most celebrities don't enter the venue until right before the show starts, many of them end up missing out on the delicious meal.

Celebrities have often joked about starving during the ceremony, which is why actress Melissa McCarthy decided to do something about it. Instead of allowing her friends to go without a meal during the show, she smuggled roughly thirty ham sandwiches into the venue.

The sandwiches, which were put together by the popular eatery Joan's on Third, were a welcome treat for many celebrities- including fellow comedian Olivia Colman who showed praise for the surprise snack during her acceptance speech for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy, for her portrayal of Queen Anne in "The Favourite." The actress joked, "Thank you for the sandwiches, amazing."

Colman wasn't the only one to publicly thank McCarthy for the delicious hand-held bites. Actress Jessica Chastain couldn't believe McCarthy was able to get the sandwiches through the tight security surrounding the Golden Globes venue. She was thankful for McCarthy's efforts, though, telling a reporter that, "It's a good idea because by the time you get into the ballroom dinner has already been served, and you're always so hungry."

Other celebrities were able to survive without the ham sandwiches by eating plenty before the awards ceremony. Camilla Belle, clad in a form-fitting navy blue Jason Wu gown adorned with an emerald floral pattern, divulged that she had dined on a hearty breakfast of "scrambled eggs, avocado and coffee" prior to her arrival.

Some celebs waited until after the show to load up on the carbs. Lady Gaga's fiance, Christian Carino, posted an adorably funny snap of the star snuggled up in bed after the ceremony with a half-eaten bowl of Fruity Pebbles cereal. The sweet treat wasn't enough for the singer to part with her most precious win of the night- a Golden Globe for Best Original Song from her hit 2018 film with Bradley Cooper, "A Star is Born."
