Staying on-trend at the office doesn't have to be hard. Combining the latest styles with a little bit of sophistication can make for the perfect office attire. One of the hottest trends right now is leather, and what better way to wear it at the office than with a leather skirt.

Is it acceptable to wear real leather?

This really depends on your personal beliefs and preferences. Real leather is made from animal skin, with the most common being cow hide. Sometimes, the skin of a buffalo, goat, or other animal may be used.

If you're vegan, or simply don't agree with animals being used for clothing purposes, there are fake leather options available. These are made from synthetic materials like polyurethane or polyester. While it doesn't hold up as well as leather, it is much more animal-friendly.

What are the different skirt options?

The most common skirt options are a pencil skirt, mini skirt, pleated skirt, and A-line skirt. Pencil skirts hug the body and end either at or below the knee. Mini skirts can either be form-fitting or loose and can hit anywhere from right below the buttocks to mid-thigh. Pleated skirts can be any length or fit, but have excess fabric that is draped over top of each other to form pleats. A-line skirts present an "A" shape, with it fitting tighter at the waist and hips and flaring out slowly towards the bottom.

What shirt can you wear with a leather skirt?

You can really wear any type of shirt you want. Button downs, blouses, camisoles, even graphic cotton tees look great with leather skirts. Mix it up, depending on the level of professionalism you're looking for. By pairing the skirt with multiple shirts, you get more than one outfit out of the same piece of clothing. That's a win-win in our book!

How do you care for a leather skirt?

Not all leather is machine-washable, and almost none of it can be placed in the dryer. Most of it can be hand washed with a mild detergent, then laid flat to dry. If you must use a machine, use mild detergent with cold water and place it on the gentlest setting.

We have several leather skirts on our website that will have you on-trend at the office and beyond. Check them out- you're sure to love them.
