The new year is has arrived, and you might be thinking about making or have already made some resolutions. Stay on track with meeting all your goals in 2019 with these 19 insightful steps. 

1. Make a list. Checking items off your list can feel very rewarding. 

2. Surround yourself with supportive people. Being around encouraging people can do great things for your mental health. 

3. Read- a lot. Knowledge is power, so soaking up as much information as you can will aid you in becoming the best version of yourself. 

4. Make time to unwind. It's important to take that daily time to reset your mind through meditation or unplugging from your devices. 

5. Help others. It can give a major boost to your mental health while also benefiting people in need. 

6. Fuel your body. Nourish it with plenty of healthy foods, water, and exercise. 

7. Take care of your space. The less cluttered your home is, the lighter you'll feel both physically and mentally. 

8. Get plenty of rest. Not getting enough sleep can have a huge impact on your health. 

9. Make time for fun. We all need to let loose sometimes. Spend at least one day a week doing something you find enjoyable. 

10. Don't be afraid to say no. Don't help others at the expense of your own happiness. If something feels like it's too much for you, don't be ashamed to say "no." 

11. Practice small acts of kindness. A simple kind word or action can go a long way in making someone's day. 

12. Check yourself. Be sure to take inventory of your actions frequently and don't be afraid to admit when you're wrong. 

13. Remember that tomorrow's a new day. Maybe today wasn't the best, but you've got a fresh slate tomorrow so don't dwell on the negative. 

14. Ask a professional. If it seems impossible to achieve your goals on your own, don't be shy about seeking the help of a counselor or life coach. 

15. Believe in yourself. Believing you can is the first step in achieving your goals. 

16. Be committed. If you've set a goal, you have to stick to it. Don't be the person that says they're going to do something but never does. 

17. Encourage others. Be that bright light to those around you. Having a positive, encouraging attitude will only benefit you in the long run. 

18. Try something new. When you step out of your comfort zone, great things can happen. 

19. Love who you are today. You're working so hard at being the best version of yourself, but don't lose sight of how wonderful you are right now in this very moment.
